Having passed through this gate, you'll next be welcomed by the Cheonwangmun Gate. First built in 1704, it houses the four Heavenly Kings. All are fierce and towering in appearance, and surrounding the exterior walls to this gate are the twelve zodiac generals.

The Main Hall

After passing through this final gate, you'll step out into the lower courtyard. Straight ahead is the Pallyeong-nu Hall. This hall was rebuilt in 1641. This hall is where Buddhist music was made and performed. In front of this hall is a nine-tier pagoda that is a replica of Woljeongsa Temple. This pagoda, according to the neighbouring sign, says that two sari from the remains of the historical Buddha, Seokgamoni-bul, are housed in it. What is more likely, at least partially, is that at least one of these sari is now housed behind the main hall at the temple (more on that later).
